Blackhead has been owned and operated by the Maassmann Family since 1967. It is truly a three generation family business. The parents, known to most as Mr. & Mrs. M. are still very active in the many facets of the every day operation. Of the second generation, Edward (Ed) is the Golf Course Superintendent. He manages his maintenance staff, and carries the responsibility of maintaining the golf course as well as the entire resort property. Peter is the Golf Professional. He and his staff handle the daily operation of the Pro Shop, Lessons, Outings, Tournaments, Golf Academy, etc. He is also in charge of the Food and Beverage and Staff Management of the club-house. And then there is the third generation. Eric, soon to head off to college, is extremely versatile and can perform just about any job that is required of him. Most of the time he can be seen working with his Dad maintaining the golf course. He is the owner and entrepeneur of ExcelDefy, and he developed this web site. Monica is 'Miss Hospitality'. She works in the restaurant and the pro-shop. She has great marketing skills and the outgoing personality needed in the hospitality business. Alley & Peter are not quite old enough to carry official jobs and duties, but their eagerness to help and their wonderful personalities, are a sign of the good things to come. Their friendly personalities are already a great asset to this family business.
